The FINANCIAL -- Tokyo stocks opened higher for the second consecutive day September 2 morning, with the Nikkei Stock Average up more than 100 points to top 9,000 for the first time during intraday trading in two days.
"Market sentiment was lifted by an overnight surge on Wall Street that was triggered by a rosier business sentiment index for U.S. manufacturers," Nikkei informs.
A pause in the yen's rise also prompted buying of exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp. (7203) and Panasonic Corp.
