Unemployment rate in Turkey is 13 percent in June

The FINANCIAL -- The unemployment rate in Turkey stood at 13 percent in June 2009.

"The Turkish Board of Statistics (TÜİK) announced on September 15 that the number of unemployed individuals went up 972,000 in the term May through July, or referred to as "June" term, when compared to the same term last year and reached 3,269,000," Today's Zaman informs.

The unemployment rate in urban centers in Turkey was 16 percent while in rural areas it was 7 percent.

The FINANCIAL -- According to Civil Georgia, the ruling party has already compromised on number of key electoral issues, including on rule of electing Tbilisi mayor and now expects the Alliance for Georgia to reciprocate and agree on 30% threshold for electing the capital city’s mayor, a senior ruling party lawmaker said on November 20.
