August Statistics report from the NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchanges

Share Trading in August

 

The value of average daily share trading amounted to EUR 2.3 billion, as compared to EUR 2.5 billion during the past 12-month period. The average number of trades per business day amounted to 201,905, as compared to 222,813 during the past 12-month period. The total market cap of listed companies at NASDAQ OMX Nordic Exchange amounted to EUR 579 billion, compared to EUR 702 billion in August 2008.

 

Derivatives Trading

 

The average daily trading volume in derivative products amounted to 461,030 contracts, as compared to 549,937 contracts during the past 12-month period. The average daily trading volume in share products was 172,689 contracts, as compared to 243,678 contracts during the past 12 month period. The average daily trading volume in index products was 174,407 contracts, compared to 222,520 contracts during the past 12-month period. Fixed-income derivatives traded 113,934 contracts, compared to 83,740 contracts during the past 12-month period.

 

Listings and Members

 

There was 1 new company on First North during August. 1 company has been admitted to trading on First North Premier during the month. Since we launched First North Premier in February 2009, 24 companies have been admitted to trading in the segment.
