Opening Ceremony of the Project for Reconstruction of Nursery School in Patara Chailuri Village

(via finchannel.com) On 2nd of June 2009, at 11:00 a.m. the Opening Ceremony will be held at the Nursery School in Patara Chailuri village, concerning the Project for Reconstruction of Nursery School in Patara Chailuri Village in Sagarejo District, which has been implemented within the framework of “Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” of the Government of Japan.

 The Ceremony will be attended by H.E. Mr. Masayoshi KAMOHARA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia and the representatives of the local authority.
 
The Grant Contract of the above-mentioned project was concluded on 3rd of July, 2008 between the Embassy of Japan and Nursery School in Patara Chailuri Village. The aim of the project is to improve the learning condition of children and to enable more children to get preschool education through reconstruction of Nursery School. Approximately 60 pupils and 15 staffs of this nursery school will benefit from the said project. The scale of the project this time is 86,000 USD.

 

“Grassroots and Human Security Grant Assistance Programme” are provided to relatively small-scale projects applied by municipalities, medical institutions, academic institutes and NGOs, aiming directly at the improvement of living standards of Georgian people suffering from hardships. Such projects might be implemented in the field of public health, medicine, elementary and secondary education, social protection and environment, poverty reduction and increase of incomes.

 

This Grant Programs started from the year of 1998. So far 84 projects which amount to 5,641,072 USD have been implemented under this programme in Georgia. The total amount of Japan’s Official Development Assistance provided to Georgia amounts to 150.4 million USD, covering a wide range of areas such as improvement of economic infrastructure, agricultural sector, social sector, cultural field and human resource development.

The FINANCIAL -- According to Civil Georgia, the ruling party has already compromised on number of key electoral issues, including on rule of electing Tbilisi mayor and now expects the Alliance for Georgia to reciprocate and agree on 30% threshold for electing the capital city’s mayor, a senior ruling party lawmaker said on November 20.
