Tbilisi Marriott Hotel -- 7.00 pm Saturday 27th March 2010 -- The Asian Ladies Group of Tbilisi is hosting a charity fundraising Asian Night that will feature a buffet of numerous dishes freshly prepared using authentic natural ingredients by the group’s members.
As well as a prize tombola, the evening will also include Chinese and Pakistan dancing in traditional Asian costumes courtesy of Maia Bakradze’s FineArt Studio. Thanks to the generous support of the Tbilisi Marriott Hotel, the Sheraton Metechi Palace Hotel, the Radisson Iveria Hotel, Ban Thai Restaurant, the US Embassy, Dutch Design Garden, Lufthansa , Pepsi, BDF, KMS Georgia and the International Committee of the Red Cross, it is hoped that the event will raise a substantial amount of money to make a significant contribution to two projects here in Georgia. Funds raised from the event will be used to help Tinatin Revazishvili, a young 25 year-old woman who was involved in a car accident last year. She completely lost the feeling in both legs and the doctors held little hope that she would walk again. Her only hope is rehabilitation, but her family cannot afford the treatment. In addition the Asian Night will donate funds raised to the Georgian Foundation for Prosthetic Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (GEFPOR), which provides prosthetic orthopaedic rehabilitation of the disabled, particularly amputees. GEFPOR aims to ensure that all disabled people in Georgia have access to appropriate, quality and sustainable physical rehabilitation services without any discrimination and provides a wide range of orthopaedic appliances for the limbs and spine as well as splints and walking aids (crutches, walking sticks and walking frames). Tickets cost just GeL80 and are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.
