Miami, Florida. The largest delegation of U.S. minority business officials in history to visit Honduras to explore business opportunities and the Trade Mission will allow participants to extend friendship, establish connections, strengthen existing relations, and promote U.S products and services, and source potential suppliers.
More than 30 minority business men and women from the United States tour Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula and Roatan, Honduras led by Director Doug Mayorga of the MCC.
“At present, calling the Honduras trade mission a great success, we set up businesses and government officials representing Honduras to be ready in providing us details and serious commitments about their economic development, duties and investment law issues. In the month ahead, Honduras will represent a new frontier for U.S. minority-owned businesses as a result of the success of our mission”, said Mr. Mayorga
Mr. Ruben Guerra, Chairman and President of the Latin Business Association (LBA) in Los Angeles, California, said “Honduras has a great momentum. The LBA is ambitious and willing to grow with new methods and training for all its members. This is the reason why we have joined the Minority Chamber on this trade mission to Honduras. Our Latino business owners need to think out of the box and create global opportunities for themselves. Globalization within our community is what’s going to turn our economy around and it will start with the Latino business community”
On the other hand, Arlin Miranda the Honduras Director for the Minority Chamber of Commerce said the mission is designed to help minority-owned businesses gain access to buyers and producers in Honduras. "We felt it is important that U.S. minority business officials have every opportunity to establish trade relations with Honduras, especially in view of President Porfirio Lobo’s Investment and Trade Initiative”
About LBA: Established in 1976 as a private non-profit organization, the LBA is the country’s largest Latino business entity by virtue of total active membership and overall outreach to Latino business owners. This year, LBA celebrates 34 years of commitment and economic impact by creating business growth, providing advocacy and business education. In 1998, the LBA established a non-profit 501©(3) Institute (LBAI), generating millions of dollars in procurement and business loans since its inception.
About the MCC: Is organizing a Trade Mission for U.S. companies interested in the Honduras market. By combining the Trade Mission with a Business Summit, U.S Minority companies will be given the opportunity to make contacts with both business and government leaders, building relationships that will contribute to mutual security and prosperity.
