The FINANCIAL -- Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin hopes that Mykola Azarov’s appointment as prime minister of Ukraine will give a boost to the Ukrainian -Russian cooperation, the press-service of the Russian prime minister reports.
«I expect to promote close and efficient cooperation with you and the government you head on strengthening multifaceted relations between our nations. I am sure this fully serves the interests of fraternal peoples of Russia and Ukraine ,» the press-service cited Putin’s congratulatory telegram to Azarov on the occasion of his appointment as prime minister of Ukraine .
Putin wished the new prime minister successful and fruitless activity in the office.
As Ukrainian News reported, the Verkhovna Rada elected Mykola Azarov as prime minister of Ukraine on March 11.
Putin had expressed hope for improving political situation in Ukraine .
