The FINANCIAL -- The Prosecutor-General's Office (PGO) says the Cabinet of Ministers led by Yulia Tymoshenko misused budget means, Prosecutor-General Oleksandr Medvedko has announced at a coordination meeting of law-enforcement agencies with President Viktor Yanukovych.
In his words, while being led by Tymoshenko the Ukrainian government lacked money for reduction of poverty and ignored the demands of the law on raising social standards.
Medvedko says the PGO protested against the former government's resolution by which the pensioners were deprived of the right to reappraisal of January pensions.
As to the Prosecutor-General, the government thrice illegally relieved coal-mining enterprises from paying contributions to the Pension Fund and to other social funds.
"Half of the coal-mining enterprises did not pay three and a half billion hryvnias to the Pension Fund," Medvedko announced.
He stressed, the PGO performed such checkup under a task given by Yanukovych.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Yanukovych in late February ordered Prosecutor-General Oleksandr Medvedko jointly with the Counting Chamber to check the Cabinet of Ministers for use of budget means.
In 2009, the Counting Chamber said the government had misused money from the national budget's stabilisation fund.
