The FINANCIAL -- The Cabinet of Ministers intends to present a draft Tax Code on September 3, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has announced when opening a government session.
"Tomorrow we will be presenting draft Tax Code for mass media," Azarov said.
He says the government has completed discussion of the Tax Code with experts, publicity, market players and taxpayers. "We have compromises. As for me, [this] is an optimal variant," the prime minister added.
Azarov characterises the draft code as innovative, fair and liberal.
In particular, he says the project provides for a zero profit tax during five years for the priority sectors, mentioning light industry and small-scale business as such, abolition of market and transport fees, automatic reimbursement of value added tax, and elimination of the advertisement tax.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Azarov relies on the Verkhovna Rada to pass the Tax Code as soon as possible.
