The FINANCIAL -- The International Airport of Boryspil (Kyiv region) came to agreement with China's CMEC General Machinery Import & Export Company, subsidiary of China National Machinery & Equipment CMEC corporation, on building a railway to connect the Airport of Boryspil with the city of Kyiv, Ukrainian News has learned from Member of Parliament Vladyslav Kaskiv form the Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense bloc faction, who heads the economic reforms committee's national projects group.
In his words, a corresponding framework agreement was signed on Thursday during a visit of President Viktor Yanukovych to China.
"During a visit of President Viktor Yanukovych to China signed an agreement on financing construction of a railway passenger service between Kyiv and Boryspil International Airport , and on building other infrastructure facilities for the Airport ," he said.
Kaskiv says the signed agreement allows Ukraine get a credit financing of up to USD 1 billion and supposes construction of 8 kilometres of railway from Kyiv to the Airport , construction of four passenger buildings and provision of electric trains to the railway.
He recalls, construction of this railway is one of the 10 national projects the head of state approved for top priority realisation.
"The singing of the framework agreement is the practical start of realisation of one of the ten national projects determined by the president," the lawmaker announced.
In Kaskiv's opinion, construction of the railway will avert the transport collapse in the direction of Boryspil, which may happen as soon as in two years.
