The FINANCIAL -- Eight people died and eight people were taken to hospital after an explosion of an oxygen cylinder in Luhansk multi-field hospital No. 7
Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the Luhansk regional office of the Emergency Situations and Protection of Population from Chornobyl Disaster Consequences Ministry.
As at 18:00, January 19, rescue teams have taken eight people from under the rubble.
They have been brought to the hospitals of the city.
The head of the resuscitation department of hospital No.7 is among those killed by the explosion.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers at an extraordinary meeting on January 18 allocated from the reserve fund UAH 20 million to tackle the consequences of the explosion in Luhansk multi-field hospital No. 7.
Luhansk regions prosecutors' office opened a criminal case upon the fact of negligent use of oxygen cylinders that resulted in explosion in a Luhansk multi-field hospital No. 7.
The blast occurred at about 9am.
One of the walls of the building collapsed and people are under the stones and fragments of the wall.
The number of injured people has yet to be specified.
At the moment of the explosion 266 patients and 50 medical workers were inside the building.
Preliminary data, an oxygen cylinder exploded.
As a result of the explosion, damaged are carrying structures of the 5ht, 4th, 3rd, and 2nd floors.
