Jet Airways Starts Affiliate Program With By Shoogloo Network Another First In Indian Aviation

21/01/2009 05:19 (593 Day 05:45 minutes ago)

The FINANCIAL -- In yet another first in Indian Aviation, Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, has launched an affiliate marketing program as part of the airline’s new digital marketing strategy. The exclusive program will be managed by Shoogloo Affiliate Marketing (Shoogloo Network – Powered by OMG UK).

The Jet Airways Affiliate Program provides Affiliate Partners with websites the opportunity to partner one of India’s leading brands, and generate revenues per conversion by promoting the airline’s web sales. Affiliate partners may integrate Jet Airways’ booking engine on their site and allow visitors to book Jet Airways tickets online. These online sales are tracked via a unique id provided to each Affiliate Partner.

This ‘quick and easy to join’ Affiliate Program helps partners earn incremental income on every successful transaction referred to the airline’s award winning website, jetairways.com, by their site.

Apart from getting direct access to the airline’s state-of-the-art customised booking engine, Affiliate partners also get promotional content and banners on a regular basis, thus helping them promote the airline effectively.

Belson Coutinho, Jet Airways’ General Manager – eCommerce & Innovations said, “This gives us a great opportunity to further increase our online presence and generate incremental sales through this channel. This initiative demonstrates our constant effort to embrace new digital marketing techniques. Being our first foray into the world of affiliate marketing, we were looking for a partner that could work closely with us with full transparency and offer us a high level of account management, commitment and expertise in this category. We saw these qualities in Shoogloo and were impressed by their approach towards hands-on account management.” Coutinho further added that “The concept of affiliate marketing is fairly new to the Indian Aviation industry. However, it has become a tried and tested practice in European and North American markets. Jet Airways, as one of the early adopters of this model in India, could be setting the stage for others to follow suit.”

Shoogloo’s Managing Director LD Sharma commented, “We are delighted at the prospect of working with a blue-chip brand such as Jet Airways. This deal is one of biggest of its kind in the short history of affiliate marketing in India. We are growing rapidly and our client base continues to expand. Our goal is to become the #1 player in the affiliate/online marketing space and the Jet Airways program is the first step towards that goal.”

Richard Syme, Chief Executive of OMG commented, “We are very pleased indeed with the progress made by Shoogloo Network.   Jet Airways is a significant win and a brand that we would expect to perform well via affiliate marketing.  OMG has been running successful affiliate programmes for some of the world’s biggest brands since 2002 and, travel is one of our fastest growing sectors, so this win is backed by really relevant expertise and market insight from the UK.”
