The FINANCIAL -- "Spider-Man" star Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer have welcomed their second child together, a baby boy, into their world, his rep confirmed the happy news to People magazine.

Second baby for Maguire

"I can confirm the Maguires welcomed a baby boy, and the family is healthy and happy," publicist Kelly Bush told the magazine on May 10.

The new baby boy, yet unnamed, is the second child for the couple who wed in 2007.

Maguire, 33, and Jennifer, 31, are also parents to 2-year-old daughter, Ruby Sweetheart Maguire.

Maguire’s personal life

Maguire first met Jennifer, daughter of Universal studio’s president and chief operating officer, on his film "Seabiscuit" (a Universal production) in 2003, and became engaged in April 2006.

After dating for four years, Maguire married jewelry designer Jennifer in Kina, Hawaii in 2007.

Maguire’s professional life

Born Tobias Vincent "Tobey" Maguire in Santa Monica, California, Maguire is best known as the titular star of the Spider-Man movies. The moon-faced and dreamy eyed actor began his career in the 1990s, and has since become widely known for his role as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Spider-Man films.

He first shot to fame in 2002 after playing the role of Spider-Man and his alter-ego Peter Parker in the film adaptation of the Marvel comic, Spiderman. Subsequently, he played the same role in Spider-Man 2 in 2004 and Spider-Man 3 in 2007.

His other films include Woody Allen's “Deconstructing Harry” (1997), “Seabiscuit” (2003) and “The Good German” (2006).

Tobey will next be seen on the big screen in war drama “Brothers” alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Natalie Portman. Tobey and Jake will play the lead roles of two brothers torn between war and love in this Relativity Media production, which is slated to come out later this year.

Jennifer’s professional life

Jennifer is an American jewelry designer who first rose to prominence when her signature piece, an 18-karat gold charm in the shape of a leaf, was picked by a stylist for Jennifer Aniston to wear in the 2006 film “The Break-Up.”

Her successful jewelry debut led to Meyer founding her own company, Jennifer Meyer Jewelry, and a range of rings, charms, pendants, and necklaces designed by her is distributed through such luxury stores as Barneys New York, Roseark in Los Angeles, California, and Maxfield in Beverly Hills, California.
