The FINANCIAL -- If you run a multi-national, medium sized or fast growing small
business, that has achieved outstanding results in the past years, or a
forward-thinking company which wishes to benchmark itself as one of the
very best businesses in Europe, then you should enter the European
Business Awards.
The European Business Awards sponsored by HSBC is an independent Awards programme designed to recognise and promote excellence, best practice and innovation in the European business community. Judged in line with the broad aims of the European Union and business representative groups across the member states, the Awards celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2011.

“Leading international business is one of the core strategic objectives of HSBC both globally and also in Georgia. Each year we see impressive entries from some outstanding companies with great stories to tell. This year is no different; the quality of applicants is rising as are the number of entrants,” Guy Lewis, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bank Georgia said.
In 2010 the European Business Awards initiated approximately 15,000 business contacts and 1,135 entries, of which 98 entries were nominated by HSBC . Compared to the previous year there was a 537% increase in the number of entrants.
“Georgia can be showcased to the rest of Europe as a fast growing economy with innovative, forward-thinking companies and businesses that are growing quickly. Last year three companies made great examples of successful Georgian business. Being selected at the Awards ceremony means being a professional business of the highest calibre. Winning companies will benefit from extensive media and industry coverage and can demonstrate to clients and investors that their business is recognized amongst the best in Europe. That in turn almost certainly brings an increase in business as more suppliers and buyers get to know the company”, Guy Lewis stated.
Every year the European Business Awards is judged by a prestigious panel of experts and involves some of Europe’s key political figures. Past participants have included Emil Constantinescu, former President of Romania, Arnold Rüütel, former President of Estonia; and Petar Stoyanov, former President of Bulgaria; business leaders including Isidoro Unda, CEO of Atradius, Peter Brabeck-Lethmathe, former CEO of Nestle, and Gilbert Ghostine, Managing director of Diageo Continental Europe; top academics and media representatives from Europe’s most influential media owners. Zviad Pochkhua , the CEO and co-Founder of Intelligence Group LLC and Editor in Chief of The FINANCIAL published by Intelligence Group LLC is a member of the judging panel.
