The FINANCIAL -- Tata Consultancy Services, a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions firm, announced the signing of a multi- year, multi- million euro contract with Europcar, the car rental leader in Europe.

After a rigorous evaluation process, Europcar Information Services, the company’s IT subsidiary, selected TCS to manage strategic IT services development for its French operations.

According to Tata's announcement marks further expansion into Europe for TCS’s travel, transport and hospitality industry solution unit. Comprising 4000-plus consultants, the unit works with 50-plus customers worldwide including some of the global top 10 industry leaders in airlines, hospitality, car rentals, shipping and logistics.

TCS has operated in France since 1992, with offices in Paris - La Défense and in Toulouse. The unit comprises over 1000 professionals based both in France and at the company’s delivery centres worldwide.

As part of its Global Network Delivery Model, the company has deployed a unique operating model in France, comprising an efficient strategy of localisation which combines the power of its global offering with a real, local and cultural proximity. TCS provides services to over 20 French companies, a majority of which are part of the CAC 40 Index.
