Japan Auto Demand To Fall 4.9% In FY10: Trade Group

The FINANCIAL -- Domestic demand for automobiles in fiscal 2010 is likely to sink 4.9% from the estimate for fiscal 2009 ending March 31 to 4,649,600 units, the Japan Automobile Manufactures Association said on March 18.

Demand for passenger vehicles is expected to fall 5.5% to 3,954,000 units. That for trucks is predicted to drop 1.4% to 683,000 units, while demand for buses is likely to remain flat at 12,600 units.
