The FINANCIAL -- Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Company (Dongfeng Nissan), Nissan's local partner in China, on September 8 celebrated its two-millionth vehicle production following seven years of operations.
The two-millionth produced vehicle was the Nissan Teana, the company's popular flagship model which premiered at 2008 Beijing Motorshow. The ceremony marking the two millionth vehicle was attended by an audience of global media, government officials and other prominent guests.
To achieve the production of two million vehicles in just seven years, Dongfeng Nissan has shown itself as one of the fastest-growing car companies in China. Production volume increased from 39,854 cars in 2003, to more than 600,000 this year. Now, Dongfeng Nissan produces a wide range of state-of-the-art models, such as Nissan-branded Tiida, Sylphy, Genis, Livina series, Teana, Qashqai and X-Trail. This summer, Dongfeng Nissan added the all-new Nissan March to its lineup.

"Our efforts over the past seven years have not just achieved sales volume. Our efforts encompass a full lineup of products, top-level quality globally, and a full line of services at dealership throughout China."
For Dongfeng Nissan, this milestone is a springboard toward meeting an even higher production target of one million in the future. Through the past seven years, the dedicated cooperation and teamwork of Chinese and Japanese employees has made the company grow to full-fledged operations, from product planning, engineering, R&D to manufacturing, marketing and after-sale services. The company continues to cater to and satisfy the needs of Chinese customers by providing them with attractive products and a full range of services.
Dongfeng Nissan is now constructing a second plant in Huadu, Guangzhou. With a total investment of five million RMB, the new plant will start operations in 2012.
Dongfeng Nissan has already achieved sales of 434,000 vehicles for the period between January and August 2010 - up 35.5% over the same period last year - and is aligned with expectations to reach the company's target of 600,000 for the full year.
