The FINANCIAL -- High-end caterer Searcys has
terminated its contract with the Army and Navy Club in Pall Mall after
just six months, according to Caterer and Hotelkeeper.
Following a mutual agreement by both organisations to part company, the Army and Navy Club has opted to revert to an in-house catering operation.
The contract, which was announced last August, represented the first time in the club's history that the catering and hospitality had been outsourced at the 5,000-member venue.
Searcys said the contract had been mobilised on a compressed timescale that was dictated by gaps in a number of key posts and that the decision to wrap it up so soon after launch was based on "key learnings" from the first five months of operation. The catering will be taken back in house from 31 January.
Searcys chief executive Doug Tetley described the decision as amicable, adding: "We hope and believe that the Army and Navy Club can continue to build a successful catering operation and we sincerely wish them all the best as they do that."
