The FINANCIAL -- Scottish & Newcastle Pub Company has become the first leased pub group to commit all its business
development managers to a BIIAB-approved BDM training programme, according to Caterer and Hotelkeeper.
The S&NPC BDM programme is an enhanced version of the BIIAB BDM training programme, tailored to address the specific needs of S&NPC lessees.
The BDMs will also be committing up to three times the amount of time required by the BIIAB to this programme.
The customised year-long training requires S&NPC BDMs to gain a thorough understanding of the challenges faced by different types of pubs and the strategies needed to grow these businesses.
Every element of a lessee's business from recruitment to capital expenditure, understanding profit and loss to merchandising is covered by the programme, which will be implemented not only in the classroom, but also with one-to-one input from line managers and coaches as well as compulsory reading and internet learning.
