As well as celebrating six annual hotel award winners, the Best Western Beacon Trust gala dinner, which followed Best Western's 2012 conference at the Lancaster London hotel, also highlighted the 167 hotels - out of a total membership of 300 hotels in Great Britain - which have been loyal to the brand for more than 10 years. These hotels received the first Best Western Brand Loyalty Awards.

Keith Pope, managing director of Best Western GB, said the Brand Loyalty Awards and Hotel of the Year Awards recognised the loyalty and excellence which meant so much to the success of any company, especially during volatile and competitive economic times.

The longest-serving members of Best Western GB - each of which has chalked up more than 35 years - are the Best Western Swan Hotel in Somerset, Best Western Lansdowne Hotel in Eastbourne, Best Western Royal Chase Hotel in Dorset, Best Western Premier Moor Hall Hotel & Spa in Sutton Coldfield, Best Western Premier Blunsdon House Hotel in Swindon and the Best Western Red Lion Hotel in Salisbury.
