The FINANCIAL -- Air Berlin, Germany’s second largest airline, will be flying to Romania for the first time in summer 2010.
From 18th May 2010 a non-stop flight will take off from Munich every Tuesday and head for Romania’s Black Sea coast. The flight takes about two hours and its destination is Constanta. There will be connecting flights from Berlin, Cologne/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover and Münster/Osnabrück. After Burgas, Dubrovnik, Krakow, Pristina, Sofia, Split, and Varna, the Romanian town of Constanta is Air Berlin’s eighth destination in Eastern Europe. NIKI, Air Berlin’s partner airline, will already be augmenting its presence in Eastern Europe in the winter: Bucharest, the capital of Romania, and Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, will feature in flight schedules from February 2010.
Another new sunshine destination in Air Berlin’s summer timetable is Corsica. There will be non-stop flights every Saturday to the French island in the Mediterranean from Berlin-Tegel. Visitors to Turkey can look forward to even more flights in the summer. From May 2010 Air Berlin’s red and white jets will be taking off once a week from Stuttgart to Bodrum. The new non-stop flight complements the existing service from Düsseldorf to the resort on the Turkish Aegean. All summer flights to Spain operated by the Air Berlin Group, including connections via the hub in Palma de Mallorca, are also available for booking from today. In summer 2010 Air Berlin will be increasing the frequency of flights to Majorca from Frankfurt and Hamburg, and for the first time since 2007 there will be an additional daily non-stop flight from Berlin-Schönefeld to the Balearic island. Sun lovers can also make sure of getting bargain fares to all Air Berlin destinations in Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Cyprus and Bulgaria by booking now.
