| Four Seasons Hotel Sydney Unveils Transformation of Lobby |

The FINANCIAL -- Four Seasons Hotel Sydney has unveiled a stunning transformation of its impressive three-tiered atrium lobby following a $1.2 million refurbishment of the property’s public areas.
It follows an extensive $16 million facelift of the iconic Hotel’s stylish rooms and suites in early 2009.
A brand new look - Spearheaded by one of Sydney’s leading designers, Joseph Pang, hand-made Le Lebo “Bubble” chandeliers imported from Paris are the striking focal point of the new-look atrium.
The seven chandeliers positioned at the front entrance and reception area, comprise a diffusion of polished steel discs interspersed with glass crystals which reflect laser cut acrylic and mirror panels. The overall effect is nothing short of spectacular in the expansive foyer.
The grand staircase located centrally in the lobby showcases a feature carpet streaming seamlessly into a semi circular instalment in front of the reception desk. The carpet’s contemporary colour scheme of dark chocolate browns, steel greys and muted greens offset the blend of chocolate brown and tan leather furniture.
An organic wall with a mother of pearl finish located behind the reception desk completes the impressive array of fixtures, taking the lobby’s design to a new level of grandeur.
An Injection of Art Culture - In addition, the Hotel has introduced a new artistic dimension to the refurbished lobby space, with the installation of three sculptures sourced from Artbank - a Federal Government agency which supports emerging Australian artists.
The lobby centre-piece titled "Mask" by Joel Elenberg, is carved out of a single block of black Belgian marble, representing the might and perfect proportions of Greco-Roman sculpture. Two other vertical sculptures stand either side of the grand staircase; one titled "Door" by Robert Bridgewater, is an intricately carved and painted wood panel, representing the threshold between two realms. The third artwork "Untitled" by Akio Makigawa, is a stainless steel triangle base, precariously balancing a warped heart-shaped piece of marble, representing the challenge to maintain balance in life.
