The FINANCIAL -- The Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Warren Snowdon, today announced 64 new projects that will receive funding to honour Australia’s wartime heritage.

Mr Snowdon said Saluting Their Service grants worth $160,394 will fund projects to commemorate those who served, and continue to serve, Australia in wars, conflicts and peace operations.

This year, the Saluting Their Service grant program has assisted with funding for other significant wartime anniversaries including the 70th Anniversaries of Australian service in Greece and Crete during the Second World War, the 70th Anniversary of the commencement of the Siege of Tobruk and the 60th Anniversary of battles of the Korean War.

Mr Snowdon encouraged local community and ex-service organisations to apply for funding.Since 2008, more than $7 million has been provided to over 1,800 commemorative projects across the country.
