The FINANCIAL -- The Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, Warren Snowdon, has wished all serving members of the Australian Defence Force, including those serving on overseas operations, a merry Christmas and let our men and women in uniform know they’re in our thoughts.

About 3,300 deployed soldiers, sailors, airmen and airwomen will be celebrating Christmas Day away from home and family, whether in Afghanistan, the Middle East, Egypt, Sudan, East Timor, Solomon Islands or on border protection duties to Australia’s north.

Mr Snowdon said all Australians should remember that there are many members of the ADF making a real personal sacrifice to continue their work on Christmas Day, a sacrifice we are all very grateful for.
