NATO secretary general Rasmussen visits Bahrain

The FINANCIAL -- NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen arrived in Bahrain on Sunday on a two-day official visit, a NATO spokesman reported, according to RIA Novosti.

The spokesman said this is Rasmussen's first visit to the Muslim country for talks with Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, as well as the kingdom's premier and foreign minister.

Rasmussen, who assumed his office in August 2009, arrived in Bahrain from Jordan where he also was on his first official visit.
