The FINANCIAL -- Chinese fishing ship sank in the Yellow Sea after it collided with a South Korean vessel, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said on September 2, according to Ria Novosti.
"We do not know yet either the name of the Chinese vessel or the exact number of crew members," Jiang Yu told reporters in Beijing.
The incident in the Yellow Sea took place Wednesday afternoon.
Rescuers have been sent to the site, but their efforts are being hampered by bad weather, the spokeswoman said.
She also called on South Korea to do its best to help rescue the crew.
