Mikheil Janelidze: Ensuring maximum involvement of the civil sector in the governmental activity is one of the priorities of the Government

The FINANCIAL -- The Georgian Foreign Minister is taking part in the 8th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum (EaP CSF) in Brussels. 

Mikheil Janelidze took part in the opening panel of the working session on the issues regarding the Eastern Partnership (EaP) policy. In his speech, the Foreign Minister underlined the importance of the main goals of the EaP and the role of the civil society in the process of the country’s development in general.

Mikheil Janelidze stated that the introduction of an effective inclusive governance is one of the priorities of the Government that is evidenced by the active involvement of the civil society in the important processes of the country’s development, according to MFA of Georgia.

The Foreign Minister thanked the National Platform of the EaP Civil Society Forum with which the Georgian Government maintains close co-operation, one of the vivid examples of which was the 6th Annual Assembly of EaP CSF held in Georgia, in which the Georgian Prime Minister took part.   

Mikheil Janelidze focused on the EaP political platform, new possibilities and the existing challenges.  

Representatives of civil society of six countries and EU member states attended the 8th Annual Assembly, which was opened by Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
