The FINANCIAL — A series of videos with testimonials by Moldovan businessmen were presented on 14 June by the EU Delegation to the Republic of Moldova.
The videos focus on the importance of free trade with the European Union for the country, with the entrepreneurs in the videos acknowledging that access to the EU market not only benefits Moldovan companies, but also prevents emigration of the workforce from the country, according to EU Neighbours East Info.
The interviewees highlighted that products from Moldova are appreciated by the most prestigious brands in Europe. One Moldovan juice producer noted that the free trade agreement with the EU has brought them an increase in their sales by up to 25%. Another company specialising in alcohol said their exports to the European Union increased tenfold. A sewing company from Chișinău confirmed that exports to the EU allowed them to keep their staff and permitted staff to remain working in Moldova.
Further increases in exports to the European Union are possible once the reforms outlined in the Association Agreement are fully implemented, said the EU Delegation in a press release.
