Giorgi Kvirikashvili: “I welcome the entry of American companies to Georgia”

The FINANCIAL -- Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili took part in the ceremony marking the opening of an American fast food restaurant McDonad’s, according to MFA Georgia.

Giorgi Kvirikashvili addressed the attending audience emphasizing the importance of attracting American investments to Georgia. “I welcome the entry of American companies to Georgia. The U.S. is a very important strategic partner and a friend of Georgia. I wish that the excellent relations we are enjoying with the U.S. result in the presence of large-scale American companies in Georgia. We welcome the opening of the new McDonad’s restaurant in Georgia and the expansion of its network. I am confident that the Government will support this process to a maximum extent. 
 
Giorgi Kvirikashvili recalled the opening of McDonad’s restaurant in Zugdidi and spoke about its importance. “It is a very important fact, because this restaurant is often visited by Abkhazian young people who come specifically to this very restaurant. They are often seen sitting and talking on the terrace with their Georgian peers and then go back to Abkhazia. I wish this network to become one of the pioneers of restoring confidence in our relations that is inevitable. “ – Giorgi Kvirikashvili said. 
 
The new McDonad’s restaurant is located at George Balanchine street, in the vicinity of the U.S. Embassy to Georgia. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Tbilisi Mayor and the acting Ambassador.
