The FINANCIAL — The second largest political group in the European Parliament fully supports Georgia’s European path” – Andrejs Mamikins, European parliament Rapporteur on Georgia said after his meeting with the Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze in Brussels.
“I absolutely believe that one day Abhazia and Tskhinvali will return to Georgia’s constitutionally defined area” – Mamikins said emphasizing that the visa-free travel granted to Georgia, which is also accessible to those living in Georgia’s Russian occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions will positively impact the conflict resolution process.
Andrejs Mamikins also highlighted the importance of the high-level visits of the Georgiam high-ranking officials to Europe, including the Georgian President’s official visit to the Italian Republic, as well as the Prime Minister’s visit and meeting with the Chancellor Angela Merkel shortly after the national elections in the country. “All these steps will bring you closer to your goals. It is very important politically” – Mamikins said.
