The FINANCIAL -- Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Georgia Ji Yanchi.
The sides discussed important issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, as well as possibilities to deepen political, economic and humanitarian co-operation.
Discussions also focused on the issues relating to co-operation in multilateral formats, including within the UN, according Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
The sides discussed the importance of exchanging high-level visits. Special attention was paid to Georgia’s participation in the China-Eurasia exhibition due to take place in Ürümqi on 30-31 August, and the international import exhibition scheduled in Shanghai, on 5-10 November.
The Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude for China’s firm position regarding Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and reaffirmed, for his part, Georgia’s support for the One China Policy.
Ji Yanchi congratulated David Zalkaliani on his appointment as Foreign Minister and expressed the hope for the further development of China-Georgia relations.
