The FINANCIAL -- According to an UNIAN, the parliament of Colombia recognized Holodomor of 1932-33 in Ukraine as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian nation.
According to the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, on 21 December of the current year, the Embassy of Ukraine to Peru and Colombia received a signed copy of the Resolution, adopted by the House of Representatives of the Congress of the Republic of Colombia, which recognized the Holodomor in Ukraine as an act of genocide against the Ukrainian nation.
According to the information of MFA, the Lower House condemned the genocide, the victims of which were more than 7 million of Ukrainians.
The Resolution reads that the Holodomor in Ukraine in 1932-33 was a consequence of the policy of terror, carried out by the totalitarian state in order to wipe out the nation.
The House of Representatives ordered to pass the Resolution to Temporary Commissioner of Ukraine to Peru Oleksiy Liashko, that he pass it to President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko and the whole Ukrainian nation.
Thus, Colombia became the fourth country of the Latin America, after Peru, Paraguay, and Ecuador, which recognized the Ukrainian as genocide.
