The FINANCIAL — In 2015/16 MY, Ukraine plans to export more than 36 mln tonnes of grains, declared Oleksiy Pavlenko, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, on August 19, according to APK Inform.
Also, the Minister noted that in the current year, the expected grain harvest in the country will reach 60 mln tonnes (exclusive of the Crimea and the uncontrolled territories of Donetsk and Lugansk oblasts), with the annual domestic consumption at the level of 24-25 mln tonnes. Thus, the production and carry-over stocks will form the total supply of grains in the current season at the level of 70 mln tonnes.
According to the Minister, Ukraine continues increasing agricultural commodity exports, but still takes care of the food security issues. So, the planned exports of grains will possibly exceed 36 mln tonnes.
