First results of EU-funded project on human rights protection of IDPs in Ukraine

The FINANCIAL -- The first results of the EU-funded project on the “Human Rights Protection of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Ukraine”, launched in June, were presented in Kharkiv this week.

Since June, the project has provided many IDPs with free accommodation and other necessities to adapt to new living conditions as well as legal, social and psychological support, health care and medical service, according to EU Neighbourhood Info.

According to a press release, a fully operational resource-transit hub to assist IDPs is expected to be launched soon.

The Human Rights Defence of Internal Displaced Persons in Ukraine project aims to promote the rights of IDPs in six regions of Ukraine, to develop constructive cooperation between civil society and the state in effectively protecting the rights of IDPs, and strengthen the influence of civil society on relevant public policies.
